Epstein purchased a smaller island - the Little St James - back in 1998, but later purchased the more expansive Great St James in the year 2016 for a sum of $22.5 million.
These photos reveal he had formulated development schemes to build upon the sprawling island by constructing residences, an amphitheatre, an submerged workspace and a reservoir.
You can see the plan is Pillsbury Sound, a waterway in the region, indicated on the south-eastern section.
This development map is marked up in handwritten red notes and contains a legend detailing various areas of the land.
Alongside the main plan are what seem to be nine other construction diagrams and construction drawings, including plans for dock shelters.
