'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith resumes clash with City.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he remembers the dramatic dying seconds of his team's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. The game wrapped up with Galbraith temporarily wearing a fan's glasses following the post-goal scrum.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a powerful strike from outside the box, and his teammate quickly hammered in the rebound before charging toward the East Stand to revel in the moment, with fans congregating around the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The result completed an unbelievable recovery given Swansea had found themselves down 2-0 during the final 45 minutes. In the euphoria, there was some unintended consequences. The midfielder recalled, "There was a spectator trying to get our attention and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're people, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Premier League Giants

The result earned a next round match at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith came close against at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. Galbraith had arguably the best view when Orient took the lead in remarkable manner, with the attacker's volley from about 45 yards going in via the crossbar and the City goalkeeper. It seems unfair that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've credited him for having a go from that far out," stated Galbraith, who played in the middle before shifting to right defensive wing after the team changed formation. That meant competing with City's winger, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the attacker was among the opposition who praised the way his former team attacked the game.

Guardiola's System

"Physically they are very good but even the simple things and basic skills, they can just execute repeatedly," he explains. "It feels like they always find their target and they are adept at dictate and take the sting out of a game. You can think you're all right and then suddenly they will just thread a ball past your midfield without you even seeing. You have to be alert throughout of the game. It demands a tough attitude and concentration just to stay in the game."

Welsh Transition

The club were keen on Galbraith in January and beat off competition to bring him in in the summer in a significant move. He became a favorite as a fans' favourite across two seasons at Leyton Orient and has swiftly replicated that in Wales. At the London club he reunited with his former manager, who previously gave Galbraith his initial sustained opportunity in professional games on loan at his loan club from Manchester United. Then came a loan at League Two the Manchester club, before he departed Manchester United.

Development Path

"I was probably a somewhat inexperienced going into professional soccer. I think many athletes would say development squad matches is very different. Sometimes it feels like play is circulated without serious challenge. You see few physical contests. Once you start playing men's games you have to learn quickly."

International Recognition

He has shown that growth for both domestically and internationally, shining for Northern Ireland, who are fighting to qualify for the World Cup next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has started the past five games, including two matches encounters against a football powerhouse. The ex-coach, Galbraith's previous international manager, gave him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he handles the football and his knack for a decisive through ball.

Starting Out

This represents an incredible journey for the kid from the neighborhood in Glengormley, just outside the capital, who used to see his parent, Stuart, also a midfielder, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

His only game for the Red Devils came in the away trip in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the host city, where they played on an artificial pitch and the venue ceiling was closed owing to the weather of bitter cold. "This represented a extended travel and it was cold out there," he recalls, chuckling. "The week before, several youth players and I practiced as a group, so that assisted our preparation. Just to join the main group and make an appearance at the end was amazing."

Departing Old Trafford

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he joined from Linfield aged 16? "The decision proved quite easy, because I arrived at the moment where I realized I wouldn't break through at the top level. I'm very appreciative for the experience gained but it got to the point where I felt I had to take a different path, move to a lower level and play men's football. Now I'm gradually climbing the ladder."

Life in Swansea

It is the early part of the afternoon at the club's training ground but Galbraith has a commitment at 5pm: a road rules assessment, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Until recently to the local area, the young professional was a frequent passenger in Swansea's dubbed team minibus, a minibus driven by academy staff, Pete and Howard, which transports players to and from practice and games.

"It's myself Gonçalo Franco, another squad member, an Ivorian player – a former passenger used to be in it but has got his license. It's nice to socialize with the teammates but I'm hoping to be the following person to stop using the bus and driving. The Portuguese player enjoys practical jokes; he's constantly causing mischief."

Fan Interactions

When he represented Leyton Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside supporters on the Tube after commuting at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
